I canceled cable recently and I dont miss the Real Estate Network known as HGTV one bit. I want to hang out with her. In Canada a lot of the design shows (Love it or List It, Sarah Richardson, Bryan Bauemler, Mike Holmes) are done out of the greater Toronto area, because, as all Canadians know, Toronto is the centre of the universe (said in jest). It was a Whirlpool and VERY easy to keep clean. Why is it not just as scandalous and wrong when a show presents itself as Love it or List it? with no disclaimers and leads the audience to believe that a genuine choice is being made, and then has the gall to film two different endings that dont even represent what the couple does? LOLOLOL I think the problem is many of these people, especially the younger ones (and no offense to anyone), they have champagne tastes on a beer budget!!! She did tell me they were really happy with the reno and that the work was done very professionally and at a fraction of the cost it would have cost them otherwise. Give us shows with interesting renovation ideas and behind-the-scenes looks at how theyre done, and youll have a lot of satisfied customers. If it wasnt for seeing the completed reno, I would have quit watching this some time ago. Although I do get a kick out of clueless Americans who think no one can live without them demanding huge American-style kitchens, dining rooms, and multiple bedrooms for when our friends visit. Reading through the comments here, I have to say I dont dislike Hilary (shes actually OK because she comes up with some good designs, which is why we watch these shows in the first place), nor is it the silly couples who expect more than theyre willing to pay (and whose problems oftentimes would be solved with some simple organization and decluttering of their houses). olmstead ~ Kim.
